This painting won an Honorable Mention at the Carmel Art Festival 2005 plein air competition. A solitary squid boat with its lights still on heads for port after a night of fishing. The sun rises over a cloud that obscures the distant Fremont Peak. This view was Painted as the sun rose from a site along the recreation trail on the shoreline of Pacific Grove.
